Charlie is a young artist living in NYC and I had the pleasure to assist to his exhibition yesterday at the Gansevoort Park Lane Hotel.
His “artist name” came from his two favorite cartoons from childhood, Charlie Brown and Bugs Bunny.
Fresh paintings, funny paintings, colorful, with detail, with message… and with a clear own style. Charlie came to NYC for inspiration and I think he really found that magic in the city that never sleeps.
Here you have some paintings, hope you like them!!!
NYSE: Every New Yorker who watches the news in the morning has heard that bell. This is BrownBunny´s fictional company becoming public on his birthday. The graffiti in the balcony represents the value of the top ten companies that morning. The girls are wearing original Versace dresses while the man on the right looks a bit disappointed. Let your imagination guide you.
The Capital Grille: Situated in the heart of Wall Street, where the biggest deals are made, a bunch of partners are having a nice lunch celebrating a good operation while young Patrick Bateman keeps playing his Gameboy. As a curiosity, everyone is accessorized with an Hermes bib for the occasion, Motorola Dyna-Tacs and Davidoff cigarettes. The Red Room: Situated at One Wall Street building that was the headquarters of the Bank of New York. You can see the hell inside while the magic of NY remains outside the room. Deals are being made and girlfriends stop by. People seem as if they would be working, but they are actually playing video games, which acts as a metaphor that depicts the importance of staying in “the game” and keeping your “lives” when Wall Street is your playground.

Nello: Set in one of most popular restaurants in the city, where people go more for gossip than for food. You can see a group of models having fun while Donatella Versace is talking on the phone. A young Nello Balan, owner of the restaurant is coming through the door.
Also, I am a lucky girl and we could enjoy the evening with live jazz performance by the grammy winning
